Celebrating Our Clinical Studies Department on Clinical Trials Day
In honor of Clinical Trials Day, we would like to take some time to recognize and thank our study department for all the hard work they do! Led by our clinical studies director, Ann Bagley, our clinical research department has be instrumental in conducting numerous clinical trials in various areas including glaucoma, refractive cataract surgery, retinal conditions, corneal crosslinking, premium intraocular lens implants, ocular infections, dry eye disease, and more.
We are home to several principal investigators that have expertise in a variety of sub-specialties. With The Eye Institute of Utah being a 30,000 square foot facility with a clinic and ambulatory surgery center onsite, our clinical research team is able to perform all phases of pharmaceutical and medical device clinical trials. We are dedicated to excellence in the clinical research arena while ensuring patient safety and privacy and providing the highest quality work with integrity and efficiency.
Clinical studies are conducted to determine the safety and effectiveness of new devices, drugs, or procedures for the treatment of ocular disease. Clinical research is vital to the advancement of ophthalmology treatments, technologies and pharmaceuticals available to patients. The advancement of medicine relies on the support of research sites playing an active role in the investigation and testing of new products, devices and procedures. The team at The Eye Institute of Utah is dedicated in staying at the forefront of advancements in ophthalmology so our practice and patients are able to continuously benefit by having access to best eye care available.
