Dr. Randy Carter Reaches 30 Year Anniversary at The Eye Institute of Utah

30 Year Anniversary - Office PicOn Sunday, May 1, 2016, Dr. Randy B. Carter officially hit a huge milestone; his 30-year anniversary with The Eye Institute of Utah. Three decades, one office remodel, thousands of patients, and five U.S. presidents later – Dr. Randy Carter still holds down the fort as the roots and cornerstone of The Eye Institute of Utah.

After graduating with his doctor of optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1983, Dr. Carter spent three years with Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute/Anne Bates Leech Eye Hospital before moving to Utah in 1986 to join Dr. Andrew Lyle, founder of The Eye Institute of Utah.

Today, Dr. Carter is one of the most respected optometrists in Utah and is esteemed by his peers as a mentor and expert in his specialty. Randy Carter is the Director of Dry Eye Services, providing a number of advanced therapies such as LipiFlow and Intense Pulsed Light to treat patients with chronic dry eye and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, or MGD. In addition, as the Director of The Eye Institute of Utah’s Optometric Internship Program, Dr. Carter has trained hundreds of aspiring and talented optometrists, instilling with them his dedication to excellence.

Anyone who has worked closely with Dr. Carter can attest to his intelligence, humble demeanor, kind heart, attention to detail, and passion for eye care. When Dr. Carter is not working, he enjoys spending time traveling, hiking and camping with his family.
