Custom Cataract Surgery Packages

If you have been diagnosed with cataracts, but you are also interested in exploring vision correction solutions to help reduce or eliminate your need for glasses or contact lenses, Custom Cataract Surgery may be a great solution for you. Custom Cataract Surgery allows our surgeons to “kill two birds with one stone” – we can remove the diseased cataract lens, and instead of just implanting a standard intraocular lens (IOL), we can also improve vision with the use of advanced technology such as the LenSx Femtosecond Laser, ORA with VerifEye, and the surgeon may choose to implant an advanced technology IOL such as a multifocal lens or toric lens. At The Eye Institute of Utah, we offer a variety of Custom Cataract Surgery Packages that are customized to each patient’s unique vision needs and lifestyle, and our doctor’s aim to help each patient achieve the best possible vision results. With Custom Cataract Surgery, you don’t have to settle for mediocre vision!

Custom Vision Package

If you have had previous vision correction surgery such as LASIK, PRK or Refractive Keratectomy (RK), than your surgeon may recommend our Custom Vision package. Our Custom Vision package includes the use of a technology called ORA with VerifEye, a real-time surgical measurement tool that allows the surgeon to precisely choose the correct lens implant power and placement during surgery. With patients that have previously had refractive eye surgery, cataract surgery becomes more difficult since the eye has already had laser or blade manipulation to improve vision. The added use of ORA allows the surgeon a better chance at reaching better vision results.

Custom Vision for Astigmatism Package

Astigmatism is a very common type of vision problem, or refractive error, that causes blurriness at all distances. The severity of astigmatism can vary, and it can also be combined with nearsightedness, farsightedness or presbyopia. The Custom Vision for Astigmatism Package is a great option to help reduce your dependency on glasses by correcting astigmatism during cataract surgery. With this package, your doctor may use a variety of combinations of advanced technology and surgical techniques to manage your astigmatism. This may include one or more of the following options during surgery: Monofocal Toric IOL, LenSx Femtosecond Laser, ORA with VerifEye, and/or manual or laser limbal relaxing incisions (LRIs). Patients that choose to have the Custom Vision for Astigmatism Package typically choose to have their distance vision and astigmatism corrected, but you would still need to wear readers to see up close.

Custom Vision with Multifocal Package

If you are seeking true visual freedom after cataract surgery and are interested in significantly reducing or eliminating your need for corrective eyewear to see at all distances, than the Custom Vision with Multifocal Package is a great option to consider. The package includes the implantation of a multifocal intraocular lens that would correct near, intermediate and distance vision. Your surgeon may also be able to manage small amounts of astigmatism with this package utilizing the LenSx laser or manual LRIs, and your surgeon will also want the added benefit and precision of ORA with VerifEye. All of our Custom Vision with Multifocal packages include a one-year warranty to ensure the surgeon is able to achieve the desired vision result. Not everyone is an ideal candidate for a multifocal IOL, so it’s important to have a comprehensive cataract examination with a surgeon to see which options is best suited for you.
