The LADARWave® Aberrometer provides the precision capture you need for truly customized vision correction. Accurate capture of a wavefront is the essential first step towards treating both the quantity and quality of a patient's vision. Without a precisely oriented and registered wavefront data, you cannot provide your patients with the outcomes they desire. The LADARWave® device, along with the LADARVision® 4000 excimer laser, became the first system FDA approved for wavefront-guided customized ablations in October 2002.
LADARWave® Features
The LADARWave® device gives you the ability to detect, measure and display the optical imperfections of the individual eye. This capability permits surgeons to gain a better understanding of how to treat an individual patient's unique visual needs.
LADARWave®, as a component of the LADARVision System, provides features and capabilities no other system can offer.
Dynamic Range
LADARWave® has a wide dynamic range to ensure aberrations are captured, even on highly aberrated eyes. Other technologies for measuring optical properties of the eye — such as phoropters and topographers — are unable to capture data representing the complete optical system. Consequently they cannot provide the optical details needed for truly customized vision correction. Both lower- and higher order aberrations must be measured and treated to create a true customized correction.
Adaptive Fogging
Only the LADARWave® device offers an automatic adaptive fogging feature designed to ensure that the eye is relaxed during wavefront capture. This eliminates the effects of accommodation and helps ensure all wavefront measurements are accurate.
