Congratulations! You have joined the millions of people who've made the decision to explore laser vision correction.

The LADAR6000™ Excimer Laser was recently approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration for LASIK and PRK refractive surgery, and for the wavefront – guided treatment of mixed astigmatism. The Eye Institute of Utah is among the first to have this state-of-the-art technology.

LADAR6000™, incorporating state-of-the-art technology, is distinctly different from other laser vision correction systems available today. It uses the patented LADARTracker® eye tracking system. This active eye tracking technology helps your doctor optimize the laser vision procedure for you. Unlike all other excimer laser systems, the LADAR6000™ uses a laser radar tracking system to track eye movements. All other excimer laser systems use video-based trackers which track eye movements much more slowly.

LADAR6000™ alleviates the worries associated with eye movements during surgery because it adjusts and realigns itself between each laser pulse, tracking the position of the eye 4,000 times per second, guiding the placement of the laser beam with pinpoint accuracy. Guided by the system’s active eye tracker, the LADARTracker®, this new excimer laser system has a cool, small spot laser beam (less than 1 millimeter wide), which reshapes the cornea, removing less corneal tissue than the width of a single human hair. LADAR6000™ reduces the likelihood of nighttime glares and halos often experienced following treatment with other laser systems.

Find out how the LADAR6000™ takes the worry out of laser vision correction and why it may be right for you.
